I just joined after getting partwary though The diary of a bookseller, as I thought, what a fun idea as you will read things you would have never picked yourself and a great adventure/mystery as to what will come.
I worked in Heffers, family owned bookshop in Cambridge in it’s heyday, before the stupid powers that be got rid of the Net Book agreement I almost cried when I went back and visited some years after that. So it’s good to see some independent places are surviving despite the unmentionable online companies.
As for the unmentionable electronic devices – they are missing a key ingredient in reading – the incredible tactile experience of feeling the amazing covers and pages.
I’m excited re this scheme and can’t wait to get the first book – it’s like Christmas is coming 🙂
