Terms and Conditions

This page tells you the terms and conditions on which we supply the service listed on our website www.randombookclub.co.uk (“our site”) to you. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before ordering any products from our site.

You should understand that by ordering any of our products, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. You should print a copy of these terms and conditions for future reference.

These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Orders

Your order to buy on our site constitutes an offer, which can then be accepted by the Random Book Club by the dispatch of the products ordered (a “Sale” or “Purchase”).

Processing of Orders

We endeavour to process your order within 24 hours of receiving it, and to pack it and prepare it for dispatch within 48 hours. Delivery times are normally 3-5 working days for the UK. Random Book Club will use all reasonable endeavours to meet the above guidelines but would appreciate your understanding that this is not always possible.

Damaged Goods

Random Book Club will make every effort to ensure that products arrive in good condition. However, in the unlikely event of a product arriving damaged, customers should contact us as above within 5 days of receipt of the product and return it within 10 days for a replacement to be sent.  Books may only be returned if the condition is unsatisfactory due to damage in the post.

Price and Payment

Payment is by Paypal only, and is for a year of the service.

Risk and Title

The Products will be at your risk from the time of delivery. Ownership of the products will only pass to you when we receive full payment of all sums due in respect of the products, including delivery charges.

Transaction Security

We use our partner PayPal to provide a secure payment gateway to accept your credit card details and process your payment.

PayPal will never share your credit card details with us, only the outcome of the transaction so that we can start processing your order.

All transaction information passed between merchant sites and PayPal’s systems is encrypted using 128-bit SSL certificates.

No cardholder information is ever passed unencrypted and any messages sent to your servers from PayPal are signed using MD5 hashing to prevent tampering. Nothing you pass to PayPal’s servers can be examined, used or modified by any third parties attempting to gain access to sensitive information.

Events outside our control

We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under these terms and conditions that is caused by events outside our reasonable control (“Force Majeure Event”). A Force Majeure Event includes any act, event, non-happening, omission or accident beyond our reasonable control and includes in particular (without limitation) the following:

  • Strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action;
  • Civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war;
  • Fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster;
  • Impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport;
  • Impossibility of the use of public or private telecommunications networks; or
  • The acts, decrees, legislation, regulations or restrictions of any government;

Our performance under any Sale is deemed to be suspended for the period that the Force Majeure Event continues, and we will have an extension of time for performance for the duration of that period. We will use our reasonable endeavours to bring the Force Majeure Event to a close or to find a solution by which our obligations under these terms and conditions may be performed despite the Force Majeure Event.

Also, where the Purchased product is not accepted or is rejected by the Customs and Excise (or other official) of any country for any reason, Craftsmans Supplies shall not be obliged to ensure delivery but shall, within a reasonable period of it being notified of such a rejection, provide a full refund. This refund shall usually be made via the same method of payment used to place your order. Whilst we will also attempt to notify you of this problem this may not always be possible.
